Why We Built This
Every major dating app is built around the same silent assumption: that love is hard to find, that you will keep scrolling, and that your loneliness is good for business.
They are optimised for engagement. We are optimised for endings. Good ones.
The idea for Wildfire came from a simple observation: the best fires don't linger. A wildfire moves through completely, burns away what was hollow, and in its wake leaves the conditions for something real to grow. Rich soil. Open sky. Room for what comes next.
That is what we wanted to build. Not an endless scroll. Not a marketplace. Not a game where loneliness keeps you playing. A fire that does its work and moves on.
What This Means in Practice
It means our success metric is departures, not sessions. Every couple that finds each other and deletes this app is a win. We track that number. We celebrate it. When you go, we send you something to remember it by.
It means the design is the ethics. You cannot swipe mindlessly here — you have to write first. A real message, about something real, to a real person. That cost of entry is not a feature. It is the whole point.
It means we will never send you a notification designed to make you feel like you’re missing out. No streaks. No “someone liked you” hooks. No re-engagement emails after a week of silence. If you’re not here, we trust you have your reasons.
The Name
Wildfire was chosen deliberately. Fire is not gentle. It is honest. It does not pretend to be something it is not. It burns at full intensity, completely, and then it is gone — and the place it passed through is changed forever.
That is what we want for you. Not comfort. Change. The kind that comes from letting someone see exactly who you are, and finding that they want to stay.

Where We Are Now
Wildfire is in development. The app does not exist yet. What exists is a belief, a design system, an ethics charter, and a waitlist of people who are ready to show up honestly and mean it.
